Illustration: Fdot1 first portrait
Early 2011 I was introduced to a musician by the name of Fdot1 (among many other pseudonym ‘s he uses). I was asked to do some artwork for his album Money MusicK. Unfortunately just as I was about to start working on the artwork my laptop broke and I could no longer work on the project as I had to find funds for a replacement computer. However, I got talking to Fdot1 after and he introduce me to his music and I introduce him to my portraits. I asked if he would mind me working on a few portraits of him and he said he was honoured I would even consider making a portrait based on him. He provided me with lots of pictures to work from and I made two portraits.
This piece took over 20 hours to complete, I began work on it 27th March 2011 and completed it 24th May 2011.

Illustration: Jim Morrison portrait
A few months ago after completing the Amy Winehouse portrait I decided it might be a good idea to work on a few more portraits of great people that passed at the age of 27. I decided to call the series ‘Twenty7Club’ and This piece is the next instalment in the series. So far I have completed portraits on Amy Winehouse, Jimi Hendrix and now Jim Morrison.
I have a few more portraits started for this series which will be named at a later date – these be on show at an exhibition called Mythic27 with Artaq in Paris so I cannot show these until the exhibition opens.
This piece took over 20 hours to complete, I began work on it 8th November 2011 and completed it 21st January 2012, I have not been working on it solidly due to the festive break, Christmas shopping etc.

Illustration: Michael Jackson portrait
I was one of those people that liked Michael’s music and video’s and saw him as an artist that lived and loved to create. I never took notice of what was going on in his private life I just wanted to hear more music from him but he never seemed to hit the heights of the great albums ‘Thriller’ and ‘Off The Wall’. When he passed in June 2009 it hit the world hard and he went from having a ‘freak’ status to being revered and missed.
I ran a poll on facebook asking fans of my Facebook page who they would like to see me do a portrait of next – Prince, Jay-z and Michael were the top three choices with Michael getting the most votes.
This piece took over 30 hours to complete, I began work on it 4th October 2011 and completed it 24th November 2011.
